Universal Design for Everyone

Accessible Single-Dose Packaging

What is Universal Design?

At Easysnap Technology, universal design means creating single-dose packaging that is accessible and usable by all people—regardless of age, ability, or circumstances—without the need for special adaptations. Our Easysnap® patented one-hand opening system exemplifies this principle, enabling intuitive, low-effort access to products for elderly users, children, and individuals with disabilities alike. By eliminating unnecessary complexity and physical barriers, Easysnap® promotes equity, dignity, and simplicity in everyday product interactions—ensuring that everyone, everywhere, can use our packaging with ease and confidence.

The 7 Principles of Universal Design

1. Equitable Use

The product is usable by people with diverse abilities without the need for separate or adapted solutions. Easysnap® single-use ensures safe, easy access for everyone, promoting fairness, dignity, and inclusion. Elderly people, children, and users with limited mobility can open the sachet effortlessly with one hand, making it ideal for the healthcare, beauty, and food sectors.

2. Flexibility in Use

The single-serve design accommodates a wide range of individual preferences and abilities. Easysnap® can be squeezed, poured, or consumed directly, depending on the context and user need—offering versatile functionality. A user may apply a cosmetic serum drop by drop using Easysnap® Drop, drink a liquid supplement directly from the pack, or pour dressing onto a salad—one design, multiple use cases.

3. Simple and Intuitive Use

The use of single-dose packaging is easy to understand, regardless of the user’s experience, knowledge, language, or concentration level. With Easysnap® single-dose, the gesture is instinctive: just fold and use. This intuitive motion makes it suitable for global travelers, children in school canteens, or first-time users. Once learned, the gesture becomes second nature.

4. Perceptible Information

The design communicates the necessary information effectively, even under low-light conditions or for users with sensory limitations. The tactile contrast and semi-rigid structure guide the user clearly and safely. High-contrast print, visual cues, and the embossed surface help users—especially those with low vision or cognitive challenges—understand how to open and use the single-dose packaging without additional instructions.

5. Tolerance for Error

The product minimizes risks and consequences of accidental actions. Easysnap® single-serve will not open unless intentionally folded over 90°, ensuring safe and controlled use. This makes it perfect for on-the-go scenarios such as in handbags, travel kits, or children’s lunchboxes, where accidental spills must be avoided.

6. Low Physical Effort

The product can be used comfortably with minimal force. Easysnap® single-dose opens and dispenses with a light fold, requiring no strength or grip pressure. This makes it accessible to users with limited hand mobility, such as arthritis patients or elderly consumers, without compromising ease or control.

7. Size and Space for Approach and Use

Easysnap® single-use comes in a compact, flat format that fits comfortably in the hand and is easy to manipulate. Its ergonomic shape and light weight allow for quick and efficient use, even in limited spaces. Thanks to its slim design, it can be easily carried in small bags, pockets, or travel kits
